Zoe Sorrell

“A profoundly gifted and innovative flutist” (Pittsburgh in the Round), Zoe Sorrell is a soloist, educator, chamber collaborator, and entrepreneur based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is passionate about redefining what it means to be a classical musician in the 21st century.
Zoe is currently on faculty at both Westminster College and Chatham University, where she teaches flute, ethnomusicology, music appreciation, and music entrepreneurship. She also maintains an active studio of both flute and piano students both privately and at the Winchester-Thurston School. Her teaching and performance style is driven by her belief that music is a universal language that allows us to communicate across social and cultural boundaries and connects us to one another.
Zoe Sorrell will present her Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, in which she introduces young musicians to the concepts of personal branding, community networking, social media literacy, and tools for self reflection. Students will leave with a better sense of what it takes outside of the practice room to be a successful musician.
