Jonathan R. Moser is a highly skilled and versatile musician, recognized for his work as a conductor, violinist, violist, vocalist, and educator. Throughout his career, he has held prominent roles such as concertmaster for ensembles like the Pittsburgh Opera Theater, Music on the Edge, the Erie Philharmonic, and Musica Nova. He also served as Principal Second Violin for the Erie Philharmonic, Youngstown Symphony, Bay-Atlantic Symphony, and Wheeling Symphony.
Jonathan’s love for music began early in life, inspired by his family’s performances of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. This passion led him to pursue a professional path in conducting, where he directed groups such as the Erie Jr. Philharmonic, Mercyhurst Civic Orchestra, Kutztown University Symphony Orchestra, Wilmington Community Orchestra, and Westminster Symphony Orchestra as Artistic Director and Music Director.
A lifelong learner, Jonathan has expanded his expertise beyond performance by training as a piano technician and luthier over the past decade. He studied bow rehairing and repair under the mentorship of master archetier Rodney Mohr and instrument repair with renowned luthier Kenneth Sullivan. During this time, he completed over 150 bow rehairs and numerous violin family repairs. Currently, he serves as the Luthier at the PYCO School of Music in Wexford, PA, where he continues to combine his passion for music with his technical skills.
