Steven Shade, Piano Teacher:
Steven Shade is a 2016 magna cum laude graduate of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where he received his B.M. in Music Education. While at Mansfield, Steven studied piano and piano pedagogy under the direction of Dr. Nancy Boston, and he also received piano instruction from Dr. Eun-Joo Kwak and Dr. Amanda Gunderson.
Steven was a winner of the 2015 Mansfield University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, and he was also a winner of the Mansfield University Conductor’s Symposium. Steven regularly gave solo piano performances, and he was a piano accompanist for numerous ensembles. Additionally, Steven was a violist in the Mansfield University Symphony Orchestra.
Steven formerly taught in the North Carolina public schools, and he is currently a music teacher within the Pine-Richland School District. Steven has also performed with the Pittsburgh Philharmonic Orchestra on piano and viola. He is an active composer, and he is currently a finalist in the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra Composition Contest.
