Phil VanOuse - Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium & Tuba Teacher:
Phil VanOuse received his undergraduate degree in music at Cincinnati College-Conservatory, studying composition and music performance, and masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
He has been principal tuba for the Pittsburgh Opera and Ballet Orchestras since 1999, and appears regularly in bands, orchestras, quintets and jazz bands on trombone, euphonium and tuba. He teaches low brass at Duquesne University and the Carnegie Mellon University precollege program, is conductor of the Slippery Rock University Brass Band, and has served on the faculty of the Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra since 2007.
