Kazumi Petinaux, Piano Teacher:

Kazumi Petinaux is a pianist, collaborative musician, opera coach and piano instructor. She was on the faculty at the University of Akron for 7 years. She was also a piano accompanist for the Cleveland Opera outreach program and traveled with singers to introduce various operatic music to young school-age students in the Cleveland area. Kazumi also served as a music director at several churches in Ohio.

Kazumi has been active as a collaborative musician, accompanying recitals for instrumentalists, singers and choirs. She has toured throughout the United States, Russia and Japan.

Kazumi earned her Master of Music degree from Duquesne University working with Warren Jones, and her Bachelor of Music degree from Kunitachi College of Music (Tokyo). Currently, she works at Point Park University and Duquesne University.

Kazumi has a strong passion for teaching piano and has her own studio at her home in Cranberry Township, PA. Her students are the winners of various competitions such as Duquesne Young Artist National Competition, PPTA Performance Competition, and Steinway Young Artist of PA. She is an active member at the Pittsburgh Piano Teachers Association where she is a chair of the PPTA Advanced Duet Competition.
