Jim Rossetti, Trumpet Teacher:
Jim Rossetti earned his Bachelor of Music Education at West Virginia University, where he studied trumpet with Roger Sherman, and his Master of Music Education at Duquesne University studying trumpet methods with Edwin Shiner. He has performed with the Westmoreland Symphony and has been the trumpet section leader with award-winning East Winds Symphonic Band for the past seven years.
Jim taught in the public schools at Churchill Area School District and with the Pittsburgh Diocesan schools for 20 years and has taught privately for 30 years. His students have consistently achieved top seating at the Diocesan Honors and All Star bands as well as the PMEA Region and All State bands.
His other musical interests include choral and handbell conducting. Jim served six years on the Board for the Handbell Musicians of America Area 2 (PA, NJ and NY) with two years as Chair of the Area. Jim has taught the art of handbell ringing and conducting at Area 2 conferences and guest conducted handbell festivals in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
