Eric Brockschmidt, Guitar Teacher & Percussion Teacher:
Guitarist, mandolinist and composer, Eric Brockschmidt has spent his life learning about every aspect of music that can be performed on the guitar. He began playing rock and roll and heavy metal music in his bedroom when he was 8.
Once he reached college, he decided to devote his life to the craft. He studied Classical Guitar with Irvin Kauffman and electric bass guitar with Jeff Mangone. After college he taught full time and performed regularly playing classically and getting involved with the local Jazz scene.
Eric helped start a Rock School Program in Wexford that he still runs today. Upon returning to academia, he studied classically under the tutelage of Tom Kikta. He has since gone on to premiere Giorgio Mirto's Quartet for Guitar and Strings as well as a stint playing mandolin and guitar in Pittsburgh's hardest working country band, the Beagle Brothers.
